👤 About the role
This is a rare build from scratch opportunity. As Head of Compliance (MLRO) you will design and lead GoDutch’s second line compliance function alongside the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, and hold the designated MLRO function as we pursue our own licences. You will not inherit a mature framework. You will shape the second line the way it should be, help stand up a newly licensed entity, and drive compliance strategy from the ground up.
That is why we are looking for builders. Someone with a proven track record of having built critical elements of the 2nd line or AML compliance stack successfully.
You report functionally to the CRCO, with a direct line to the Supervisory Board and CEO. You are the internal owner of financial crime compliance and the external point of contact for our regulators on AML matters. This role is leadership in a fintech at the moment it’s defining its governance.
📈 What does success look like?
Build and own the second line compliance function. Design the compliance monitoring and oversight framework from the ground up, challenge the first line, and give independent assurance to the CRCO and the Supervisory Board.
Hold the MLRO function. Support building the AML compliance stack and own 2nd line responsibility over AML/CFT, KYC/CDD, sanctions and transaction monitoring, act as the AML point of contact for DNB, and file unusual transaction reports to FIU Netherlands. (This role may be subject to a DNB fit and proper assessment.)
Strengthen the financial crime control environment. Mature the SIRA, transaction monitoring and sanctions frameworks, and manage the control boundary with our banking partner.
Drive compliance strategy across the licensing journey. Act as the compliance and financial crime subject matter owner across the DNB licensing workstreams, and a credible counterpart to regulators.
Partner across the three lines. Work closely with first line operations, the Head of Risk, Finance and the CRCO, and embed a practical, commercially aware compliance culture as GoDutch scales.
